Chat? what to do? (POLL)

I have encountered this occasionally and am just curious how other people handle this.
Someone joins, then just says "sorry, I quit" or something similar. Not in anger, just "bye".

If I only had 1 game with opponent, I probably wouldn't think much of it. If I had multiple games, and they 'quit' in a few, I'd probably be disappointed.

That is my basic feeling and seems to be that of the poll. Of course, I would be a tad more irritated if I was freemium.

I'm happy if anything. One less person in a standard game or a win in a 1v1. We're all just wasting our time on this site anyway, so them quitting just rushes it.

it annoys me momentarily but i forget about it almost immediately. i have a buddy on this site who is such a speed game quitter, but i still like him and will always play him.

Just be happy you get some easy points. One less game for others to not have to bitch about being screwed over by the man/random.org in, ya know?

It all depends on how much time I have. If I have spare time, I really don't care. I'll wait it out and just be glad I'm grnteed the win instead of relying on these dice. If I'm short on time, I may throw out a few curse words (ok well maybe a lot of curse words)

It's a matter of principle for me. If I take the time to play the game, so should the other player... regardless of the eventual outcome. That being said, I probably care a little too much. If I didn't have moderator-standards to uphold, there would be a lot more wailing and gnashing of teeth coming from me.

What you do is, type out exactly what you want to say to the person, using whatever language vents your anger the best, then click 'note to self' and Enter! You still get the aggression out

Hmm... good idea. What I usually do (and I do this in the forums as well) is I type out what I really want to say, read it, wait two minutes, and then delete and type something more polite.

Boo!! Impulsiveness ftw

Nah, I can usually say what I want in a polite manner, the connotation of the words is always up for interpretation though, and there is no way of avoiding that, unfortunately.

I also enjoy:
(1) Killing with kindness.
(2) Killing with ridiculousness (or being over-the-top)... taking something ridiculous to its logical conclusion.
(3) Killing 44
(4) Killing with sarcasm

Well, if this happens in a speed or RT game, I can understand if some emergency/other unexpected rl thing comes up. But I really don't understand quitting in a casual game.

I definitely rate them accordingly. I may foe them, depending on whether they've done it to others or if this is a one-time thing. I also take the time to see if they have a frequent habit of doing so...if they do, I file a report.

What a magnificient literary genius we have here. What utter brilliance does his keyboard spawn next? Will he get unlucky with the intensity cubes and proclaim "the dicez r fags"? Only time will tell. I for one cannot wait what fascinating insight this modern-day guru will utter next. What deep thoughts must endlessly race under that egg-shaped cranium? What groundbreaking thoughts summon the wrinkles onto that remarkable forehead? Ah, if only we mere mortals could know the ponderings of such genius.
