Why is it that people are allowed to join tournaments that they create? I mean they STILL have to win the games to become the winners but the fact that they started the tournament, chose maps they liked and settings, and molded the rule in a way that gives them best chance to win.(not best chance of all competitors but maybe best chance as an individual user) am I the only one that see that as a disadvantage to everyone else? Or against the spirit if you win your own tourneys. Or is it just me?

It is just you. Granted, I may be a bit biased, as I do join my own tournaments. However, the fact is that EVERY tournament I join is because I like the settings...so there really isn't any difference in that regard between my tournaments and the others that I join...and I would say that would apply to the vast majority of tournament organizers, as well.

The win to tournaments created ratio is quite low for TO's who join their own tournaments. There is no advantage to the TO by playing in their own tournament as they have to play the same games and follow the same format as everyone else. Unless of course you have seen abuse and can site it...

Well if they were the only one who played said map and settings then yes that would be extremely unfair and not just you.

I started creating tournaments so I could play in them.
There wasn't nearly enough 8-man, standard escalating game tourneys being created in my mind, so I started making tournaments to fill the void.
I've never heard any complaints from people I've played against for being in the tournament.

I'll admit, a couple of times I've rolled my eyes at certain TOs and tourneys, but when I really look at the facts, they have to win the games just like everyone else. What's cool about CC is that the users create so much of the content. Of course a TO should be allowed to join their own tourneys, just like how mapmakers are allowed to play on their own maps.

hm,i created 17 tournament and only manage to win 1- its look that something wrong with mine settings-obviously that players who win mine tournament, also know to play these map and setting.
Everything its in rules-if tournament are fair, and everybody are equal chances to win-i don't see nothing wrong for TO to participate in hes own tournament.

I think its only fair they do all that work organizing a tourny should they not be rewarded by making it to there likings? And on top of that no one is forcing you to join any tournament you do not like.
