I'm not overly bothered either way

no because with some poeple they may be on a horrible losing streak and they dont want others to see how bad they have been doing

how would a streak make a difference?

My opinion : No. However, there should be a record somewhere viewable only to you. (I hate counting all my games :) )

The problem with this idea is how meaningful a win/loss record would be. There are so many different game options, and it is obviously going to be a lot easier to win a 3 player game against 2 privates than a 6 player game with colonels.

How do you compare the win/loss record of someone who plays all doubles/triples and someone who plays all standard? And how do you factor in terminator games? You can win a terminator game but if another player took more points than you surely they deserve some credit in a win/loss?

Just my 2 cents worth anyway :)

Heres my solution.

Assign every game a player has played a percentage based on the odds of a player winning. So:
    4-player doubles: 50%
    3-player or 6 player doubles: 33.33%
    4-player: 25%
    5-player: 20%
    6-player: 16.67%

You then take all of those percentages and average them. Then you put that number next to his actual win percentage, and put it in thier profile. Terminator might be different. Maybe you just use this system anyway? :?

I like the idea of a private one.

maybe make it private with the option to show it?

I like this idea... I have implemented my own stats system but it is not so accurate and will never be coz it doesn't show who I played against.

Maybe we can factor in ranks into the odds as well?

eg. two colonels vs. 2 privates in a 4 player dubs would mean that they ahve a 90% chance of winning instead of the regular 50% and so on.

But how to set up these odds?

If you can put some statistics into it dude and make a suggestion I will definately vote for it.

I will also try and use it in my little database ;)

Vic: I dont know how we might impliment the ranks into the calculation since they change all the time. The only thing we have to go off of is how many points you won or lost.

also, what do you mean by put some stats in it?

well say I am a private at the moment and I team up with my buddy mike who is also a private, and we beat 2 colonels, so our win percentage was 10% only -> so basically we get a .9 added to our win percentage.

say I win 4 games like that I will be .9 * 4 out of 4 which is 3.6 in dubs ... not bad at all eh ;)

so basically it is something like points, except it is broken down into different types of games played and it is easier to see how many games played of each type!

so my stats may look something like

standard (.7/8)
4 player dubs (3.6/4)
6 player dubs (2/5)

total games played = 17

dunno it looks to get pretty complicated :P, but it is the same system that we have except that it is broken down

forget I ever said anything...

how about this.. divide the points that you have by the number of games you have played; this will make it very challenging and players like qeee1 will come out top with a score of 26.36 and pretty much all the colonels will drop to 4.something

well why not have a break down like the dice analyzer

ie

first divid by game type

factor in # of players

factor in modified rank (possible modifier could be

"(current rank/ average rank)*total days as a member=modifier/1000 + 1"

so current is 1532 average is 1501 = 1.02~ 365 days Rank mod 372.54
=1.37

against 1693 / 1642 * 420 = 433.05
=1.43

shows player 2 is more constant over a longer period so is much harder to beat than a normal 1532 vs 1693. would be then a 2098 vs a 2421

math is estimated alot

basically win loss could be

termin= actual 4-3-0 win % Rank win %
same for all other types of games respectively

total would be

Total = act 15-8-0 win say 65% rank win however would be say 42%

rank win % is using an ajusted win concerning consistancy

sorry if i dont help the topic
