jezza ( 17-0 )
for dummies ( 12-0 )
krazykr ( 15-0 ) Assassin Target

2007-02-23 15:38:10 - for dummies: you are his target and when he kills you as he will do very soon he will win the game. i know i am your target but if either of us want any chance to win we must have a truce.
2007-02-23 15:39:26 - jezza: y dont u concentrate on ending your turn
2007-02-23 15:39:58 - for dummies: no. because then he will be able to go. he will kill you and we will lose.
2007-02-23 15:40:26 - krazykr: fine, well we'll all just sit here waiting then :-)
2007-02-23 15:42:08 - for dummies: come on red. don't be stupid. if we don't treaty we will lose. you must know that by now.
2007-02-23 15:45:50 - krazykr: (by the way red - he's right unfortunately!)

here is my problem, in this game http://conquerclub.com/game.php?game=250298
blue is about to knock out red and win the game. even though i am red's target shouldn't we have a tempoary truce just to hold back blue and keep ourselves alive?

Obviously yes, you can always have an alliance to avoid defeat, it's an integral part of the game.

Unfortunately you were blessed with an opponent unable to understand that.

It's sometimes harder to win a game against a player who doesn't understand the game than it is against a really good player. The player who doesn't understand the game is unpredictable and does not always act in their self-interest.

This is true of all the games here, not just assasin.

That is certainly true. But some of us are willing to act dumb (by being unpredictable) if it improves the chances of winning.

I can't say it's worked in Assassin games. I've only played a few and my target always turns out to be the dominant player.

I'm in the middle of a game where one of the players says something like "We have to do something about Abel. He's outta control". Don't know if it will work yet, but I was out of other ideas

Well since this question has been answered, I guess I'll hijack at the risk of breaking the forum rules which I'll admit I haven't read.

I have an Assassin question. (That is the topic's title, so I guess I'm not really hijacking.) What happens to deadbeats? Does the person targeting them automatically win? I'm about to have a deadbeat situation in a game I started.

(Unrelated, can we put some code into this topic and similar ones where if someone votes no their account is deleted?)

the person with the deadbeat target gets their target.
