Being away for a few days...best way to handle it

I'll be going under the knife in the not too distant future and was wondering what (if any) the best way to handle gameplay during that time?

Having someone (familial) take my turns for me?

Having someone (you trust on the site) take my turns for me?

Deadbeating? (how it I hate that as an option, although at the rate some games are played I might not even miss a turn  )

Other ideas?

Thanks,

I'm already doing a good job on my score . Deadbeating might slow it down .

I do appreciate the offer and would have no qualms accepting the offer. Before I do anything I'll of course need to discuss things with the teammates I'm paired with when time gets closer.

Thanks,

If you know already you won't be taking turns for awhile, how bout you just don't have any games going. If I knew I was going to be gone long enough to miss turns, and that date was within 10 days, I wouldn't start or join any games, and would do my best to finish the games I had going.

Find someone good to take your turns. Maybe ask reverend_kyle.

Well, recently I went on a vacation and knew I couldn't be playing during that time, which was about 10 days.So I quit starting new games or joining any.

I stated in the game chat what the situation was,and 2-3 days before I left I deployed/fortified my armies in a single country in all of the games I had unfinished, not attacking anyone anymore,of which I had also told in the chat apologising to everyone for the inconvenience.

Allthough deadbeating out of the games, the other players knew what the situation would be and could prepare for it.Even though I lost a lot of points because of this,it was my decision.

Had stopped creating joining from the moment I found out... Some games don't lend themselves to ending quickly though.

I just posted about my experiences in the ER on valentines day. Made my wife go back to the house and get my laptop. I wardrive, so I know there were some free hotspots around. (Truly free ones, I don't steal service) Logged on and played while I laid there for 6 hours. Take you a laptop and possibly a "cantenna" or other wifi antenna and play in the hospital room. Some hospitals around here now are actually offering free WiFi service. Have you checked yours? Just an idea.

Hope every thing comes out well.
