What does one do?


When one finds himself in a three way tournament game, with a decently respected member of this community, who takes offense at you (Gasp!) having the gall to attack him and acts like a total fucking retard?

This isn't just anyone, you understand. This is a prominent tournament organizer who has a lot of social pull on this site.
However, not wanting to name names, but he does have a reputation for being a pissy pants douche bag in game chat.

Now I understand three player games are naturally volatile. Lets face it: as good as you may be, some dickhead opponent has the power to hand the win to your enemy. Never a great scenario. But when you couple that with higher ranked players who earned their "Status" by structuring their play via formula to ensure a steady climb up the ladder, you get some officers who loose their fucking minds when shit start to get colored outside of the lines.

So what do you do, when a specimen of this nature acts like some wet nursed milk sop and insults you?
Or not only insults you, but looses his composure and insistently attacks you thus throwing the game to the third player?

Because inanimate S.U.V.'s suck at online community base strategy games.

The path I chose was reason, and a live and let live, agree to disagree on how one derives pleasure from gaming on this site.
However in all aspects of conflict and interaction, you have to factor in that no matter how mature and reasonable your stance may be, the other side has the option to smear the shit pulled from their diaper on their face and insult your perceived talents. And then foe you, eliminating you from a vast number of future join-able tournaments that you have supported and played in since day #1?

Note the utter absence of smeared shit. Not a trace on him, or his gay older mentor.

Now a gentleman of good breeding recognizes that he does not need to stoop to that level. However, being in the company of a host of other alpha males, I would like to present the quandary to the gathered host that is C.C.

What would you do, my good gentlemen and ladies? What would you do?

No seriously, nobody's interested in getting involved in your conflict. Dragging your personal beefs to the general forums instead of handling it person-to-person is a douche move.

It was not simply that you attacked me. It was a really pathetic bad play when you attack big stacks in an even game giving the advantage to the third player for no reason--it was an escalating game. Understanding escalating games might help. I will say it again and again and maybe one day bad players will understand how to play. Until then--I don't care about points so if you make a suicide move into me I will suicide you back and foe you --now be-gone.

Edit--and by the way--why would you even want to play in tournaments. You admitted you play for fun and not the competition of actually trying to win the game?

Thank you. I was 1/2 cut and snarly. The 2009 Toyota Highlander pic might be wrong too, but I couldn't find a 2004.

Listen: Go over the log. You held Oceania at the Drop! At my turn in Round 5, I had finally taken South America, Red was working on North America, and was not even close to gaining that bonus for another two rounds.

-You had the largest deploy .
-You had 10 extra accumulated troops from your Oceania bonus by that time.
-You had sealed up the greater part of Asia, and were dominating the board easliy.

So yeah. I had one territory near your bonus, dropped 5 on it, and hoped the dice gods were kind. Breaking that bonus would have slowed you down.

-Not given away the game
-Not negated my chances of winning
-And really, not doing anything more that leveling the playing field.

But oh wait, I wasn't able to break the bonus. My 5 troops took out, what.....7 of yours...then stalled.

That was the extent of the damage. This was in NO way a game changer. But you act all indignant that I attacked you.
Like I'm supposed to let you run away with the fucking thing?

AND THEN: The next round you consolidate a buffer zone around your bonus, driving red and I out of the area.
Write a few snippy lines of crap in the log, while I'm back to fighting you off my border in Africa.

Round after that, YOU ignore red, who has consolidated North America, and after cashing in a set, you use your entire EIGHTEEN deploy to come after me, and not attempt to break him AT ALL.

The next round, Red cashes,wipes, me out, then kicks your ass, winning the game just one round after that.

I don't care about the loss.
I don't care about your shitty attitude
But I do care when you flat out fucking lie to me, yourself, and now the public that "My Pathetic Bad Play" had ANYTHING to do with this outcome.

So that's that. Case closed, and that's all there is to say.
You lost your composure, and handed the game to the third party, Blamed me, and then Foe'd me.

I would have done this via P.M. but since you immediately took away that option....well here we are.

An Un-Foe would be appreciated for the tournaments side of thing, an apology would be even better, but not expected.

(And to answer your question: I play tournaments for the fun of it. Of course I play to win: I just don't invest a lot of emotional energy into it like others tend to do. That, and I like to help fill struggling tournament spots....contribute to the community....that sort of thing. But you should know this, considering I used to get a Shit load of emails from you asking to join them.)
