hi there newb question about playing doubles/triples

Postby nospoons on Fri Feb 16, 2007 5:14 am

Hi i'm new to conquer club and i was wondering, in FFA games, holding all territories of a continent means taht you recieve an army bonus at the start of your turn. in Doubles and Triples if you hold half or so of a continent and a teammate holds the other half, does anyone get an army bonus? if you hold all of a continent in triples by yourself do you get an army bonus?

if so how does the team decide who will control an entire continent so as to gain the army bonus? and once thats decided how do you go about removing teammate controled territories? i would presume that they fortify the majority of their armies out of the continent and then you atk the remaining ones?

thanks a bunch.

Or we could actually answer his question:

I had to ask this question myself. If the teams share a continent, they don't get the bonus. They will have to attack eachother in order to gain that bonus.

A good teammate will be able to gauge who will be most likely to take or need a particular continent. It's a bit harder in the Classic map, but in maps with significantly more countries (I'm thinking of World 2.0 here, but others are certainly applicable) but a team mate who has "dead" or stranded troops in a continent should do what they can with those troops as early as possible.

Scenario: Player A and B are on teams. Player A holds half of Western Europe, whereas player B only has Poland. If Unlimited fortifications are on, Player B should fortify those troops into a strategically viable country for Player A (if you are able to do the fortification). If not, they do nothing but hinder your ally's ability to take the continent; attack an enemy. If your ally is going to take the continent, the troops will be dead soon either way. You might as well try to take some opposing troops down while you're at it.
