Deadbeats

This question may have already been asked but I can't find it anywhere (or I'm to lazy to look at more than a few spots  ), but why do so many new recruits deadbeat? I've only had about 10 percent of the new recruits I've played with actually played.

Because they dont read the instructions, so they dont know whats going on, so they think the site is crap, so they leave.

when i see im playing against someone who has never played, i find it benefitial to explain things to them that they may have been too lazy to read. when they understand the site better, they come back, they play more, and they dont deadbeat as much...... of course there will always be a percentage that deadbeats.....

i was just in a game with 5 new recruits and none of them deadbeated.

It helps to start off with a "welcome to CC" and then when/if they are killed, i tell them what they did wrong/what they could improve for the next game. Try to be friends with the new guys and they will feel more welcome and wont deadbeat.

I've only played a total of 15 games, and I already understand the frustration with db's. I did it in one of my first games because I was too impatient for the map (World 2.0), and now after having it done to me I decided that I would never, ever do it again. :?

The only deadbeats I've ran into thus far are in doubles games which is really frustrating. Every one of them had at least 20 games under their belt. I've decided no more doubles games until I find someone with a contrasting play style and a willingness to play.

Iron E, is that the colonel or whatever they call him on that wacky Japanese Game Show? I can't think of the name of it off the top of my head, but it is hilarious.

Thanks, Windparson
