Just make sure that you announce them in the gamechat and it's is perfectly legal by the laws of this site. However, many players take offence to alliances anyway - you have to judge when it is a good time to make one. For example, in a 3 player game 2v1 is immoral. In my opinion you should only use them when you can't afford to lose men fighting stupid battles - in other words alliances are a way to keep you in the game if you are losing and possibly 1 or more other players. Still - there are also just some assholes on the site who take exception to the perfectly viable strategy of allying yourself with another player.

Just to follow up on that. Half the time any if you are one of two players getting stomped by a third it usually obvious that the two weaker players need to work togethor. So I won't type in anything about an alliance because I just assume the other weak player has some grasp of the basic mechanics of gameplay. Wrong, half the time the newb muppet will start attacking you, even though they can't kill you and take your cards, thereby ensuring victory for the already strong third player.
