ok to start this should be in q and a but response is.

* Players are allowed to account-sit for others as long as they are not opponents within the game. When sitting for a player, you need to post who you are and how long you will be sitting for the player so that other players in the game are aware of who they are actually playing.
* Being on another player's account for ANY reason other than taking turns when they are in danger of missing a turn is not allowed. Abuse of this privilege can be considered account sharing and could result in a Bust for both accounts.

If I were a mod, I'd move this to Q&A.

Just have them announce that they are doing your turn in the chat. You are not allowed to have opponents in a game do your turns for that game (that'd just be stupid, anyway) and I don't think teammates are allowed to do your turns in a freestyle game.

I think.

False. It is common courtesy to announce yourself but it is NOT required (but still appreciated and considered the Pro thing to do). So don't go making C&A reports because someone didn't announce themselves...

If this was true then Emdizzle would be in the slammer by now.

Then why did Cake Eater tell me that he'd got in troub-troub when I told him to do our teammate's turn in a freestyle game?

Did he take the turn out of necessity or for strategic gain?

Or maybe you and your pards are on a secret CC list. 8-[

Seriously. If he got in some trouble it wasn't just cuz he took a turn. I sit for about 8 diff multi accounts and as long as you DO NOT join/create non tourney games for them, post for them, violate game chat rules, mess with their account, abuse their pm in/out box etc you violate no rules. So he did something he shouldn't have.

I do recommend peeps always announce that they are taking the turn in chat and only use pm or wall for game question purposes.

Snow said from the FAQ, he's right, even mods have said like snow, when some other asked this question (a lot of people are making threads asking about this... I guess that's why it's in the FAQ  )

true but i guess they should fix it in community guidelines to say the same as FAQ then or visa versa.

Or is this just another loop hole in the rules so they can highligfht one or the other .

from Game Chat Guidelines on the topic of Account-Sitting with the stipulation of
If you are new to the site, there are some basic instructions to using the Game Chat.

Abuse of this privilege can be considered account sharing and could result in a Bust for both accounts.

from the FAQ
17. Can I let another player take a turn for me when I am away from the game?

You can, with the stipulation that the account babysitter is not your opponent in any current game. It is common courtesy to announce in game chat that another player will take your turn(s) during your absence. Babysitters should only do what is necessary to take the turn(s) and should not interact with the community, start or join new games (except for ongoing tournaments). Furthermore, you should only take another player's turn if they are in danger of missing a turn, not for the purpose of gaining a tactical advantage.

I suppose they could either take the whole of the ruling but the gist is this.
do not be player's account for ANY reason other than taking turns when they are in danger of missing a turn. It does imply you are not allowed to sit for a tactical advantage, such as teammate in freestyle sitting ect ect.

geez, lets all lawyer up lads and bring the pitchfork.. Well to be honest, its clear as glass to me because i recon to look at the intent. There are always loopholes, accidents and exceptions. Just do not count on it happening with you ;-)
Now the MAIN difference is that in the chatguidelines it writes that you need to post in gamechat while in the FAQ it is called common courtesy. let me assure you right now that tactical sitting is not based on wether you wrote it in gamechat or not...
