Map: World War II Europe 1939-1945: Attacking UK from Europe

Hi All,

I am seeking some advice with regards to this map, mentioned in the topic line above.

I am wondering how to attack and conquer UK, I understand that I can bombard it from Europe, but how do i get troops over there and take over?

any help much appreciated.

the quick and dirty reply is. you do not. Either you have a base in the UK or not and then you will never get on the island.

read this http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=527&t=73696 and install BOB if you can. it will help you to see how countries connect.

If you cannot do this then take a look at the XML and see manually what lands connect. Might take you a while, but its doable..

No it wasn't.

With out even clicking your link I would assume you are referring to the channel islands. (Which happen to be in the coastal waters of France)

It was occupied after England withdrew it's few forces from it and had a few bombs dropped on it before the Germans even realized it was undefended. It was then occupied and can in no way be considered an invasion of England. And not to diminish the difficulties and privations suffered by the inhabitants it really had very little strategic military and economic value and England did not even bother defending it and they were not liberated until the day after Germany surrendered.

But why beat up MichelSableheart? His rhetorical question is very historically accurate.

But anyway. I appreciate that mainland England can not be invaded in the game.
