How do you tell what spoils you have?

Which format do you use in game chat?

I tend to use ****rgGb (Santa Fe).
Where uppercase indicates the spoil I won and in brackets it the spoils name.

What do you use?

in flat rate-> set of 4/6/8/10 + *name of region if any*
in esc->set+ *name of region if any*
in no cards->nothing,i like my partner to figure out
in nuclear-> every turn i just say the name of the region i get and the colour. (Rregion/Bregion/Gregion)

number and color, and if one is bold. In nuclear you have to be particularly explicit though.

eh? I mostly play esc. or no spoils. So I simply say "I have a set".

I take it you don't win many quads games.

but if you get +2 for a region zone,it's better to tell,so your team won't attack unless is totally necesary. For example if they want to attack to get a spoil they won't attack that zone.(Yes,for x reason you have only 1 troop there, maybe another player wanted to take it but failed-9

Yeah, there are certainly cases where it's necessary to mention territories of the spoils, in those cases I just say what they are. The thing is, most of my team games are no spoils dubs (you should know, you've played quite a few with me...)

Yes,we have played only 1 flat and 1 esc,and all the other were no spoils. In my case as long as is not fs I like to play any setting. Is not that im tight to no spoils...

I know yeah, I just like no spoils for dubs games... the esc. dynamic doesn't really suit team games IMHO... or perhaps I just don't know how to play them (more likely explanation...) and I hate flat rate (that rhymes!) so I just think it's more fair for my teammates that they get to play with me on game types I can actually manage to be useful at ;)

Escalating in team games is huge, hence my quads comment. More often than not, a strategy-intensive quads match between two good teams (on a decent-sized map) will result in more than one teammate-killing and much of the same things that manifest themselves in esc singles.

I think in team games esc is more fair than flat rate... I never play flat in team games.. unless someone invites me.

Esc is step-wise ....

Flat rate is nothing but the luck of the cards.... too many times me and my team get red sets, and some lucky bastard cook team gets rainbows...

Well it's good to be a teammate of someone who knows even if you don't know or vice versa, the one who knows will be the leader and the other the follower in that game. It's better to learn things like that(map,settings...) than alone, where you don't know what to do exactly. And then after learning you(your partner)'ll be useful. That's what the big team players do

To continue this thread - I created a small add-on I plan to develop more - so you are welcomed to try and test it. It shares team spoils in chat and adds some nice info graphical info to the right of the players name :-).

It took about 1 minute to post the cards.. The side cards did not show.
