Gettting accepted by a Clan

I have gone through the regular channels(I think) to join a clan but have yet to be accepted. How does one become accepted or would it be better to start one of my own and make it for others like me who feel shunned?

It is a lot of work to run a clan, thus it would probably be better for you to join one. You can post in the clan section that you are looking for a clan or post in any clans recruiting page that you want to join their clan. As of now you dont have a lot of team game experience so many of the top clans wont consider you.

You might also want to enquire with the Spanking monkeys or AoD or one of the other clans that has started a training group.
Meantime play more team games &see if you can find regular partners.

sorry to go of topic but TSM and AoD have training groups?

I think there's a few other clans that have this kind of thing as well.

There are also many social clans that accept almost anybody, you can take a look through those

We have slightly more discriminating tastes and don't go looking for every player that says they want to join a clan (no disrespect to those who do, we just have a pretty full roster). However we do take a look at anybody who expresses interest. TSM is actually the first to have a training group, although others like LOW require games with members before they can join.

Some clans are just picky. Especially the competitive ones.
For instance it took me months to get into The Legion, which involved
A) A person sponsoring me from inside the clan.
B) A vetting period where I would vs every clan member in multiple match ups.
C) A recruitment tournament along with other prospect members who also wanted in, in a wide range of games and styles.
D) A two week provisional membership in which the clan could decide if I'd fit in in the long run.

My point is, if a clan doesn't jump to have you join from word go don't feel shunned. These clans become like families, membership must be earned. Once that happens, it is a wonderful thing
