ive noticed that sometimes it will say "so and so will receive double the armies for the next 3 turns" for some people on world 2.0. how do you get that bonus, or is it just random?

You get multiplied armies on any map after missing a turn. If you miss one turn, at the start of the next turn it will multiply your armies by 2 (to account for the previous round and the current one). This is to make sure that people can have some flexibility and miss a turn or two but not be out of the game.
If you see a person is missing a turn and they are holding a continent you can break, you might want to consider it! If you don't do that they will also have the continent bonus doubled when they return, but if you do break it they don't get the continent bonus for either turn.

Huh? What game? That's new. Damn, I wish I could get double armies for 3 rounds in a game.

Game 150021: "2007-01-04 06:16:35 - MedalOfHonor gets the armies multiplied for 3 rounds" because he missed two turns in a round.
You got us confused with the "for the next 3 turns". That's not what is said and definitely not what it means.

no stl, it reads "wicked gets armies multiplied for 3 rounds", NOT for the next 3 rounds. It's for missing turns, you get your armies when you come back, as long as you didn't miss 3 turns (then you're kicked out).

The wording there is confusing though, and its obvious to see how he made that mistake.
What isn't so obvious is how he only came up with that question after playing 80 games

He must have been really lucky with the deadbeats, or lack thereof.
