Do mods actually delete retaliatory feedback?

Postby dabooz on Tue Jan 02, 2007 9:56 am

First this guy hotstuff gives me a neg for negging him on deadbeating. His comment is: read the forums for my excuse n00b. This is not deleted.

Then this guy jonmc sends me this PM "If you could please remove your negative comment I would appreciate. If not I will provide a review for you that basically says that you are a sore loser and being too emotional. This will be your forth comment to that effect. Maybe you just need to chill out a little bit. Your results and your score would be much higher if you don't get so emotional."

I don't remove my neg since I stand by it and he negs me.

Then there was this guy jhern who clearly had a secret alliance (if you look over the game, they shared borders in a 3 way game in 2 places for continents. They both left 1 guy on each of those borders and never attacked. They were also in several other games together). I give him a neg and after that he gives me one. Shocking.

It seems like no one is able to receive a neg without giving one back. It's all retaliatory and the mods don't seem to do anything.

Did you report the feedback?

You need to let the mods know about retaliatory feedback, they aren't mind readers.

Yes, we delete it. Yes, you need to contact us to do it. There are thousands of feedbacks out there, we work mostly off complaints. There used to be a link off the main feedback page to contact a feedback mod; I'll see if Lack can add that back. I'll look at yours later.

I removed all three retaliatory feedbacks.

There is a link to report feedback abuse in the Feedback section of the Instructions.

Yep - I got that when Medal of Honour was caught cheating. I had 3 negs before i got any positive. Although I was quite disappointed to see the neg go as they are always more interesting. I often read the neg fb of players i'm playing with but rarely the positive stuff. Just shows what a lovely person I am! :P

Do mods actually delete retaliatory feedback?

No.

Unless it specifically says "I'm leaving feedback because you did".[/quote]
