has anyone here had a teamate deadbeat out in the first 3 turns of a game and still won? I have a couple of times and I dont find it fair that the teamate still gets points for winning dispite not playing at all. I think if they deadbeat out like that they shouldnt get an award for their partner doing all the work. At the least they should get no points for the victory if not even losing points for being a burden for 3 turns...what does everyone else think???
I do sympathise you but I believe that lack is currently working on that. Although it is not always the end of the world when teammates deadbeat. You get their territories and - in triples - it quite often can be a help.
so far I've only played one doubles game, with 6 players... my teammate deadbeated, so the other 2 teams were attacking each other while I hid away... once I got my partner's countries though, I was able to start fighting, and actually won
it actually can be a challenge to kill the guy who inherited all the 3's...they have instant bonus via countries...so in adjacent games...it can be dangerous...however, i believe only one maybe two have beaten me like that...this is out of more than 200 mind you
It happened to me in a 6 player game but I ended up destroying just about one person per round. Most of the time when I get deadbeats I lose because I don't get enough reinforcements to match my 2 or 3 enemies. My 3 player game was going well but then this person deadbeated and we couldn't match the reinforcements so he got destroyed before he was kicked out and we lost. So a lot of time it can be a hinderance.
