If you dont get any points from deadbeating new recruits why on earth would anyone join a game with one in?

At the moment I am relunctant to join games with new recruits because the dead beating percentage is so high but at least there's the consolation of points

That was the old, old way and not only was it effective for noobs that didnt come back, but also for high rankers that didnt like their starting setup. I'm just glad the site has evolved a lot since then. :D

Right, thats why we can't let high rankers deadbeat without losing points, but I've never seen a new recruit that cared so much about their 1000 points to try that kinda stunt.

And yes its true that now people won't be as willing to play with new recruits, but when the rule about getting points from deadbeats was first introduced, a lotta people could foresee players abusing this by just finding games with all new recruits knowing that it will be easy points.

So if we really do want to stop this inflation, we'll have to be willing to accept the fact that we can no longer look towards new recruit deadbeats for easy points.

I completely agree. Just program the game to only allow the first 5 games a player plays lose zero points. After that they are probably playing more and don't want to lose. This will stop point inflation from those who just join the site and never come back. GREAT IDEA!
