If you know you are about to lose the game, is it a legitimate tactic to try to ensure the person with the highest rank win so you will lose less points?

Click in the game window to give it focus and press ALT + PRTSCN, which copies the contents of the window into your clipboard.

Start MS Paint (usually in Start --> All Programs --> Accessories). Press CTRL + V, to copy the contents of your clipboard into the Paint application. Click on File --> Save As... , name the file and save as type JPEG. Go to http://imajr.com/ (or http://www.imageshack.com if that doesn't work), and upload the JPEG file you saved with your screen capture to the site. When it's finished uploading it will give you a URL link to your picture. Copy and paste that link into a message using {img}your link goes here{/img}, where the curly braces { and } are replaced with square brackets [ and ].

That's all there is to it. Good luck.

It's disappointing to read that the majority believe it is ok to suicide in order to lose less points. If you are one of those that voted yes then your taking your points and ranks far too seriously. Losing points does not justify ruining the game for someone.

Ask yourself this question. If your were the low ranked player who was on the verge of winning and had that victory taken away from you by a suicider protecting his points how would you feel about it?

I personaly would send negative feedback and stick that player on my ignore list.

Yellow just suicided me; couldn’t kill me thought. The game has almost certainly been handed to light blue.

I don’t mind losing if I am out played, but losing like this…..

i gotta say, i'm totally fuckin horrified at the result of this poll. 70% to 30% think it's okay to throw the game in order to lose less points.

this is pathetic, and while i agree with AK that an unhealthy obsession w/ points is pretty sad, i have a bigger problem with this.

i could go on for a long time on this, but i think all i need to say to make my point is: integrity of the game, bitches, integrity of the game. have you no honor?

goddamn, my faith in humanity has been shaken.....i'd love to put all those 70 percenters on my ignore rite now

This poll just doesn't seem right....

I will certainly HOPE for a higher ranked player to win when a loss is inevitable... but it is inconcievable to me that someone would suicide to ensure it.

Besides, one should always hang in there.... because every so often, a certain loss can take a crazy twist and become a win...

What a pathetic concept. I can't believe someone would try to screw over another player just to lose less points. Especially when the player you're screwing over is a weaker player, who may deserve to have a well-earned win against someone stronger.

Really, really lame, IMHO.

Image - Alright, I just can't figure this out. Can someone put this picture on this forum (the link should take you to the picture)

Picture above (*hopefully*) shows scenario in question.

The board had been balanced between 4 players. One player (yellow) unbalances the game by giving up his position to destroy another player’s position (mine/pink). I have one turn before almost assuredly being crippled by yellow as he destroys any chance either of us have to win.

Dark blue has a substantially lower score than light blue (the two players that will remain after yellow and pink no longer have a chance)

What would you do in my place (if you were pink) (assume yellow is unwilling to reconsider the pointless suicide attack against you);

1) Do nothing and wait for end to come
2) Attack yellow preemptively and hope for lucky dice
3) Attack dark blue while you still can to hopefully swing the game in favor of light blue (so you will lose less points)
4) Attack light blue while you still can to hopefully swing the game in favor of dark blue to help out an player with a low score
5) Other – please specify

Let me know what you think

Suiciding is a pretty weak tactic and really should never be used in my opinion. Why ruin the game just because your going to lose? But then again, I don't play for points, I play to play. My stats show that, lol...

It's interesting to see though, that generally the higher ranked players think it's alright (to save their precious points), and the lower ranked players generally think it's unaccaptable.

But yea, I'm surprised the percentage that thinks it's ok is so high....

This is a good topic.

Just checked out the game, and the opponent...
If you REALLY want to make him mad, just give him POSITIVE FEEDBACK!

Seriously... this guy WANTS negative feedback... so if he gets pos feedback from you, he'll likely target somebody else.

And since he might still suicide on you, I think I'd try to get out of the way... head to Alaska and fortify ALL your men there.... hopefully he'll aim for another target.

Goodluck. The game is far from over.
