Without BOB, CC Sucks

There is no BOB for an actual board game.

well the boardgame is classic, we have monsters..

bob helps a shitload, but when i have to i can still take my turns on my phone.. but then i will be cursing the lack of screenshots the following turn..

bob really makes the game more enjoyable for me..

I played without a script for a long time and got to a major, I could still do it without Bob. But BOB helps to make the game more fun. If you don't want to use it thats fine. And to the steroids comment. lol. Steroids are illegal and have detriments to the persons health. That would be a valid example if BOB provided a virus to my computer and caused it a shorter lifespan. It doesn't. Its free to all. BOB is like wearing cleats in soccer or football instead of tennis shoes. Or eating performance bars and drinking performance fluids in athletics. It helps keep you on your toes. It doesn't give you an unfair advantage. Anyone can use it. And unlike steroids it isn't against the rules of the game. It is definitely allowed. So really no similiarties at all lol

I have Firefox on my home computer and use BOB at home all the time, but at work I'm stuck with Internet Explorer and so of course no BOB.

There's no difference in my win rate between playing from home or playing from work, but playing from work is a lot slower and more tedious. That's the point of scripts.... not to change what you do, but to automate the tiresome clerical work like going through the logs and counting the other guy's reinforcements. Especially on a nightmare map like Antarctica, where every turn generates more than 100 lines of log, reading it manually is just slow tedious work. Not difficult, but tedious, and a big distraction from the game itself.

I've had clickies and BOB for 2 years and I quite liked it (especially clickies for its speed). Now my computer somehow pushes away Firefox likes it's a virus for a few months. I can't read the snapshots anymore and have to figure out the legends of maps myself. After a few weeks I realized that I never really needed BOB. It gave me information that I didn't really need. I rarely checked my snapshots, because I have my memory. Can't really say I miss BOB, except for the fact I can't make snapshots for my teammates after my turn. Guess what, I can also write it down. My teamchat is usually rather full, but that's half of the fun for me.
I voted that BOB is not important for CC.

I'm lazy and weak minded because I can't see 1 pixel wide borders on a map with horrible contrast? Actually wouldn't the map be horrible and of sub-par quality given bob is required to locate attack paths?

Bob doesn't provide strategy, it provides clarity so I can see and use my brain to identify the best strategy. Bob is a TOOL. If you don't like tools, then you are obviously a sub-human primate incapable of advanced thought. Using tools is a sign of intelligence.

I love the wide array of add-ons available, BOB and all the rest. I used to write down every territory I saw in Fog games. Now, I can take a snapshot and review that information at any time, and it's much easier to manage.

The Foundry does a terrific job of churning out maps, but for us slower minds, BOB is indispensable for figuring out which countries are part of a bonus or which terts attack, bombard, or are bombarded by other terts. I love hovering over a card to see who owns which territory. The countdown timer is great. And the best part about it is how customizable it is. I can easily select which functions I want to use and which ones I don't.

In fact, I'm very impressed with all of the different add-ons users have created for CC. I love how much faster Clickable Maps makes playing CC. I cringe when I have to use the native clickies - I prefer to use the drop-down menus instead, but kill runs take longer.

Assault Odds is nice, too. Sometimes it's faster to just estimate how many troops I need to take someone out, but AO lets me see just how bad my chances are at that termination.

Chatglove is great for letting me know which games have updated the chat. I can cycle through all of them and communicate with my teammates rather than leaving PMs or Wall posts.

Speaking of PMs, Private Team Message is great for opening a PM to my teammates with one simple click, rather than copying all of their names and parsing it all out in the To: field.

The add-ons, BOB and the rest, really enhance the CC experience. Sure, I could buy a car without any extras, but I like the option of a manual transmission, a GPS, a wet bar, and my own personal AI. Hey, choice is good!
