David Wain's an absolute meanie (for lack of a more inappropriate term to be able to use in here) from what I've seen. But I've learned to generally just ignore it whenever he says something.

I told another player in the chat that he was not being smart, and he private messaged me an angry reply in which he called me "smartypants" instead of "A**HOLE". Net result: I appoligized.
