Bringing me a Hendricks and Tonic generally works for me, and don't forget the Cucumber slice.

Although this sounds like fun, it's not really CC related, so it shouldn't really belong in the General Discussion.

How is not CC related when it's about the OP becoming the rank of Cook?

When you attain your new rank, announce it here http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=341&t=80917. Then we can all congratulate you. If you aren't a member of the Society of Cooks, then you should join up, since you can't see the SoC part of the forum if you aren't a member. About a month ago, I was a cook.

i am not sure if u should focus on gourmet education first before becoming cook,
if u eat Brezl and wash it down with a nice scotish gin & tonic u would realise its no style at all,
did i read fajitas ?

Phew, good to know some one knows about mixing tastes. For the uneducated, Hendricks is a unique Gin. I see Gordon's have tried to replicate it....I wont say a word on what happened to a glass of this which was served to me recently in a London establishment.

I will be looking in hamburg if i can find a bottle of Hendricks,
I used to be a fan of gin & tonic, negroni,... but my drinking habits changed when i met my australian fiance,
she adored cosmopolitan ( even the original cosmopolitan from the 1930 was made with gin- today they use everywhere vodka),
and when i was visiting St.Petersburgh in Russia, i bought me many different vodka bottles, to try them all and distinguish the differences they offer.

Gin was very popular in the past also in the states, from 1840 until 1940 u will not find a single recipe with vodka, even Alaska used to be Russian territory until 1867.
In the 1940´s, the Smirnoff Vodka Company brought a drink into the market called the Mocow Mule ( Vodka, Lime, Ginger Beer),
Zsa Zsa Gabor and Woody Allen ( Hollywood) contributed to the success of Vodka in the United States.

But the knockout for gin came in the Year 1962, in the first James Bond Movie Dr. No - James Bond drank his Martini not shaken,
he drank it stirred, but more important it was not made with Gin, it was made with Vodka,
and if u watch closely the old James Bond Movies, u will always see a Bottle of Smirnoff in the Background. Amazing or?

And because in later times, the drink became more fancier and fancier, more exotic, more colourful,
the Vodka with his more neutral flavour fitted more in those drinks than Gin, and for Gin was no more space left, not even in bars.

But Gin is coming back, if u go in a good bar in Hamburg and order a gin & tonic, u will always be asked, which gin would you like sir,
and which tonic do you care to drink with it? nice or?
Le Lion, a Bar in Hamburg-Germany ( thats where i reside) has over 80 different Bottles with Gin, in the 1980- u could be happy if u
found 3 or 5 Bottles at most in any Bar here in Germany or Austria.

Lets finish this with a Phrase "Vodka is the Ferrari amongst the Spirits ( there is a drink called Ferrari in Austria- i had it first time in the year
1989- and it was Vodka, Red Bull on the rocks- 1989 !!! Red Bull is by the way officialy available in China, so whatever u drank in shanghai ...)

--- but Gin is the Jaguar amongst the Spirits.

So, when i order a Gin & Tonic it would sound like this
Monkey 47 Gin with a 1724 Tonic Water, or a Sipsmith Gin with Fentimans, or Adler Gin with Thomas Henry.
salute, cheers, a saunte, serife, nastrovje, zum Wohle, Prost.
I used to roll the daizz

Well one learns every day.

I know Sipsmith and I actually get my mixers from Fentimans & Fever Tree (I like the Fever Tree lemonade for a Pimms in the Summer). I think I have tasted Adler some time in the past, but it is not freely available in the UK. I realise much of your list is available in Germany.

Thanks for this, I have added a couple of thoughts to my drinks list! But, I admit, it will take a lot to tear me away from Hendriks, that Gin seems to suit me perfectly.

It's not about that at all. It's now about food and alcoholic drinks.

Of Course its CC related, now our friend sm8900 needs to add to his nice Gin & Tonic a teaspoon full of patience,
research the strategy forums, setting up a couple of terminator games, or joining them ( he needs to kill only one guy every game anyway)
playing some practisegames with the bots

and taraaaaa he will become a cook.

If your a cook January 1st I'll be happy to play a game with or against you and give feedback.
Until then, join a few terminator games and kill someone. In fact, kill everyone (one at a time!). ;)

in the year 2000,
bombay sapphire was a hype,
i even gave it away as a small christmas gift to friends ( and good cigars)
but the hype is over, it belongs to the bacardi company ( which i am not a friend of, frankly speaking)
i used to buy the 47% alcohol version, but mostly u can find only the 40% alcohol bottles
which one do you drink?
