What would possibly motivate someone to say this?

Postby Dibbun on Fri Jul 01, 2011 8:46 pm

2011-07-01 18:26:50 - proud2b: its up to you if you want to keep playing, but I've got a lock on this one, so if you want to suicide thats fine

Really????

I thought my response was rather mild given what he said.

As a note, that was said in round 4, I ended up losing the game in round 13.

well:
1. he was right. he had a bonus and a better position. and only stupid dice would have denied him the victory.
2. you were very rude
3. i would have given you 3 stars total. 1 for each category.

you were right not to give up but you were wrong to curse him.

Lmao, I like how you guys are so quick to rollover in a game, and so arrogant to think that others will rollover for you.

It was exceedingly condescending for him to think I would give him any territory, much less the game, until he had earned it through wiping out my force.

Interesting you are so angry, sometimes you realize enough is enough, in this instance he was letting you know, IF you are done with this game, you can go angry rampage and I won't be pissed.

I'm a former Conqueror and my win % is 66%... do you really think that I could achieve this by being "quick to rollover in a game"?

I think the wider problem is the socialization that a lot of you (those who have no life) force on other players.. spamming your acronyms in games, like gl and gg, which really have no meaning unless you're trying to fish for good ratings to maintain eligibility in your noob squad.

If you're playing a game with a person in real life, do you really see yourself telling them good game before the game even ends? Do you really see yourself telling them that the game is over and that they might as well suicide?

I'm from a chess background, and if someone told me to surrender I'd hit him. Whether or not I choose to surrender is my discretion, and I would not be caught dead asking my opponent to surrender. I also would not ever imply the game is over prior to the checkmate.

So why don't you play your turns and not speak unless spoken to, otherwise enjoy your 1-star ratings from those who aren't afraid to tell you that you have your collective heads up your asses with your rudeness and lack of class, and that telling someone you don't even know that they might as well suicide is far more crude than my profane comment to my opponent in that game.

Yes I have, and my friends do this as well. Why? Because sometimes it's impossible to win and being thick headed about it is just silly.

This was round 4, and the game didn't end until round 13, and it's an escalating spoils game. Are you really saying that it was impossible to win from round 4, and the other 9 rounds were meaningless?

Dibbun, this is just a game. Relax, man.

You say you're a chess player. In games between Grandmasters, when someone gains an advantage, that's game over, and the other concedes defeat. Granted, I'm no GM, so I keep playing until it's obvious that I'm not going to win (say, 9 points down (= ).

Your opponent was pointing out the obvious. And if you had been able to turn it around and defeat him, you could have had a good laugh at his expense. =)

First, in chess games, victory is very rarely assured. The avoidance of defeat may certainly be assured, but often there are ways to force a stalemate, even when your opponent has not lost a single piece.

Second, sportsmanship is a good indicator of character. Telling your opponent they've lost and should give up is profoundly poor sportsmanship. What would you do in a football game if your opponent took a big lead in the first quarter then told you to go ahead and run out the clock since you lost anyway? This was round 4 of 13, so it was certainly not even close to the halfway mark.

if telling your opponent to give up when he's in a bad position is considered profoundly poor sportsmanship, then how fair play is your reply?

Dibbun congratulations you just made my foe list. Someone does you a favour and you act like an arse. There is a difference between rolling over, and accepting the inevitable. Barring acts of god/or your opponent deadbeating you were going to lose that game(surprise, surprise you did). You could have been gracious about it, taken the shit happens approach and moved on

Instead you start a thread so the entire site can see what a narcissistic soiled tissue in an adult book store you are.

Wait, so why are you foeing him?

I just made a mental note that if I'm playing dibbun I should tell him he's lost already or some such in round 2. After all, it is easier to beat someone who's foaming at the mouth with anger.

There is a list for the idjet who posted this thread...
Uummmm. What's it called... Oooh ya.. FOE!
You have to be a real dousche to post this. As demon, and many others said, he was trying to be nice, and you cursed him... Ignorant, and you show no respect...

And ya, I came from a chess background as well, but I'd never let a sore loser like youirself win, just because you complained.....

And one more thing. It's called good sportsmanship! Learn it and you may actually be a decent player one day.. ( even though it may take a few hundred years..)

Dude, you had no chance. Get over it, and move on with your life....

Ok.. Now I must bring out one of my most favorite words for CC. YOUR A NOOB!!!

You had no chance at winning! Escalating spoils in a 2 player game don't mean shit unless it's gonna go on 20 or so rounds! Then the first big cash wins!

One more thing ya gotta miss about CC.... Damn Bogan... Tell em how it is!

No. When you play with someone like this, tell them round one they have lost... Someone who is as inconsiderate, and ignorant as this is going to make dumb moves from the go... (like I usually do, but mostly because I don't care. haha... (or I'm drop dead wasted))

And hell ya I'd foe him.... Someone who'd complain about this.... I'd say bye to em..

Stop being a crybaby bitch. Jesus, he beat you, get over it. Its often very obvious who will win, maybe he jumped too quick but I always say GG before the final move has been made, usually I try to make sure its only 1 or 2 turns before the finish (something you whine about in your profile) but sometimes I could see how its a little cocky when the dice drag it out a little.

The fact is this person said sorry, even after you were ignorant. Why are they not in here pissing their pampers about the game chat?

Obviously everyone here thinks you were in the wrong..stop bitching, save face and fade back to obscurity
