what happens at christmas?

Postby Trevor33 on Tue Dec 19, 2006 10:02 am

as you can't expect people to move during christmas is there going to be a day that no one misses a turn? it won't be fair on the people who can't or don't want to move at christmas if there isn't.

X-mas is celebrated at the same date every year again. We know it is going to happen, either anticipate or don't.
I have been decreasing the amount of games I am in, and those I did join are mostly freestyle, hoping to get them finished before friday evening.

edit: there been a post like this before, and I think about 80% of the votes were against the x-mas action proposed in it. I see if I can find it and edit a link in.

I think we should have a "freeze day" or even make this longer lack has a few updates he can do in this time maybe just after christmas and if he was to freeze the timers then this would be wicked coz then i can celebrate propally without mum mum giving me a black eye for missing the crizzy dinner for some internet game  lmao.

Does your dinner last all day?
The idea Lack could use this time to do some updates ain't bad at all, however I do wish him a happy x-mas, and not one where he gets stressed out bcs an update did not go so well.

Not everyone here celebrates Christmas. If you're that worried about missing turns, don't join any new games until after the holidays.

Then we also need freeze times for major jewish, muslim, hindu, buddhist, pagan, wiccan, gnostic, zoroastrian and the global standard deity knows what other big festivities there are.

Oh, and don't forget the atheists day, the deists day and the agnostics day.

Just make it so we have 72 hours to take our turns throughout the whole year, ok?

Seriously, Christmas is a major national holiday.. they even celebrate it in Uganda. Landgrab freezes the timers for Major holidays why cant CC also?

Plus lack is doing a Christmas update anyways.. even though I feel he wont be coding on christmas.. he can freeze the timers for when he will be putting that on err something.

I can see the argument for freezing games, the majority of players celebrate christmas. It's not some religious endorsement, it's just something that's beneficial to the majority of players on CC.
