I get sick of seeing "you cannot join game 140593 because you are on Prackcall's ignore list".

Then don't do things that will get you ignored. It's simple, really.

I've been well behaved in games for over a month now. I guess his one bad impression stays forever.

Well, simply put, yes. Sure, it's an online game, but you've still in essence betrayed a trust. It's not as crucial as the trust of real life issues, but who wants to come to a site for recreation and have to deal with behavior that is stressful ?

It comes down to building your reputation back. It takes time and effort and actions speak far louder than words.

Were it me, I'd avoid flame wars because you just seem to set yourself up. I'd listen more and speak less...because as I've always been told, it's better to keep quiet and let people think you're a jerk than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. :)

In all seriousness, if you want respect, you give respect. That doesn't mean being a kiss-ass or a pushover. It does mean sometimes biting back things you want to say.

In short, you get what you give...and in this case, it will take some time to build back. Slowly but surely, you can improve your reputation if you want.

Wow. That was a post length worthy of Fitz. :)

Thanks for the advice. I do however think that posting on flame wars shouldn't have a bearing on who's ignore list I get onto. Less deadbeating would be a good idea on my part. A lot of the time I get distracted and deadbeat a game in the middle of it. I'm trying to figure out what I did to make Prankcall put me on his ignore list though.

3 reasons I would put you on my list if I could be bothered:

1) I wouldnt wish to play somebody that has previously shown such utter contempt for other members of the community.
2) I dislike deadbeats
3) Why would I wish to gamble 100 points on winning maybe 3 - even the lousiest player can fluke a win in this game sometimes.

But it does. The ignore list is a personal thing. If someone annoys you or flames you, why would you want to play with them ?

If you're on someone's ignore list and want to know why, ask. They might take you off, they might not. That's their choice and you have to respect it either way. If you show them that you can be reasonable (and also fulfill your contract - which is showing up and playing games you commit to), that will make strides towards repairing your reputation.

Ignore List

Postby Prankcall on Sat Dec 08, 2007 10:48 pm

Hmmm...I just cross refrenced our game and we have only played one ever..Surpirsing u got my ignore list...I play a ton of public freestyle speed games and I like to think myself a tolerant person..U either did something drastic or it is/was your feedback...Almost 50 negative is a tad to much even for me. And why does it bother u to be on my ignore list..Quit singling me out..I'm sure there is plenty others where u found that. Have a Happy Holiday
