help becomeing a better player

Id like to think im slightly above average in the game of risk, i win majority of my 1v1's but i lose alot more then id like... there are times that even when i have a clear starting advantage i lose badly and i would like to know if a experienced player would like to give me some advice, play a couple games help me be better.
