Question about your first turn

Where you get the first three to deploy, should you just set up for the next turn or place them on one country and take out another? Because I never manage to take out a 3 with a 6, which leaves me crippled for cards.

What do you do on your first turn?

depends on what settings you have and what kind of a drop you have (your starting territories)

if its escalating then then dont attack first turn solely for a card, youll turn in later as a result and get more armies

if its flat rate the cards are very important and you should try your best w/o crippling yourself all over

in no cards its really up to your judgement, if you own most of a continent then if you want you could try to get the rest or part of the rest or you could just save armies

I'm normally an idiot on my first turn and will cripple myself (unless it's no cards) trying to take one place.

i only attack if i know that i got countries to support me...for example...if i have 3 armies side by side i will deploy 3 armies on one, attack from that one, and if cripples, use one of the countries to strengthen up
