I hate AJAX.

Seriously, my page won't refresh automatically, the dice won't show, and twice I've suffered disaster because I attacked the wrong country because of the automatic "reassigner" when you click your target country first then your source nation.

What exactly was wrong with leaving the option to turn AJAX off? Now I can't access CC from my cell phone anymore either....

I don't think that's Ajax cause it works fine for a lot of people including me

I have all the same problems. CC runs slower and I keep getting misdeploys and misattacks.

If half of the players are not using AJAX and the other half are it bogs down the server. That's why.

To be honest I've seen very little difference in speed with or without Ajax. I'm not too fussed either way

Hiya

Just want to say that I have been playing the game blind in the past week or so

where is the Ajax option? I can't find it on "my settings"

I used to have the greasemonkey script that worked, and ever since the website updated, the greasemonkey doesnt work at all, and the game map is not updating for every move i make

Oh it's working very fast for me, but playing "blind"

any help please?

I was having problems with FireFox in general. So I just stick with Explorer. Much easier.

There is a new BOB script available. Remember to shut off the parts that you do not need. Otherwise it tends to slow things down.

BTW I miss playing "age of merchants" That is the only map that seems to lag with the mandatory AJAX , I am also still getting that occasional load lag that goes on forever, ( I have to exit the game and then rejoin , in order for it to stop )

But other then these 2 minor problems , I really do not see much of a difference, other then being a little slower.

The AJAX BOB script is in the plugins section of this forum.

AJAX is still being tweaked so it should still speed up some.
The reason we moved over is because it lets us put more people on the server making the server we have capable of handling more people. Fewer server upgrades means we can keep the site inexpensive for you :)

There are some issues with AJAX which might cause problems on your side : some computers (older ones usually) have problems with AJAX because of the javascript side of it.
If you have javascript blocking extensions it might cause problems.
If you have more than one version of BOB then it's going to screw things up

There will be more tweaks coming in the next few weeks to deal with some of the timeout problems as well :)

Have a good one

Ditto the slowness

Postby Windparson on Mon Nov 26, 2007 10:58 pm

I too, am having severe slow downs since the mandatory switch to AJAX. Like one of the posters above, some times I have to shut down and reboot to get things going again.

My laptop is not that old and was doing things just great till the Ajax switch.

I am dealing with it and I understand the need to help out, but it is a pain.

Ajax is really starting to do my head in! It's taking me forever and a day to take my turns because it keeps stalling on me, and after I've pressed F5 a few times the map goes all to cock as well.

Please sort it out. Either iron out the glitches or give us back the option to turn it off.

Care to elaborate on "all to cock" for us? It would help if we knew what was going on :)

can we have the old style back until youre done tweaking it? 10 minute loading time for an auto-attack is not good. so many bugs and glitches, painfully slow whenever it feels like it (often).
had i been wise, i would have seen that her simplicity cost her a fortune
