Fog games make diplomacy paramount. you have to know how to subtly manipulate your opponents -- not necessarily by lying, either. It's rather like poker, in fact.

In terms of defense, I like to have multiple layers, with a weaker fortification where the opponent can see it.

For attacking, like someone said, keep track of your opponents' territories, and also where they're likely to be (this is where diplomacy comes in). You can deduce a lot just from their bonuses and territory count.

I suppose the ability to do arithmetic helps too :lol:

OaM is quite nasty with FoW too, try keeping track of who has which bonus, if you can't see who owns which market :roll:

but often it is a very good idea to hide at least some of your armies at places where noone expenct them, yet don't leave your base too vurnarable to attack, and try to be able to strike from one or two places
