The maddening mystery of the missing map of Midkemia :)

(I was faintly proud of all that alliteration :D)

Hi, I was trying to start a game on Midkemia but it doesn't appear on my list of options. I can see it as an option when searching to join other people's games but I can't create such a game!

What's wrong?

Midkemia has been pulled due to copyright infringement. However you may join games on it anmd it will be returning shortly under a new name

Does this mean all the names of the cities are going to be modified as well... I must say that the more that I remember about some of Feists actions the more I feel he's being a deuche...

IE: No you can't make a MUD because someone else is making a MUSH and I plan on sometime someday in the future making a MMORPG out of my IP.

I'll still buy his books because they are amazingly well written but it sucks that he's such a hard*** about not using the maps ETC.

how about we piss off another author lets make a Hogwarts map... :-))

It may not be the author. It might be the publisher.

I don't know the details though so your guess is as good as mine. I hope to see it back soon. I was really looking forward to that quench, and I missed the boat when it was finally ready for play :cry:

no no, I know this is the issue the author contacted his lawyers. This is the same thing that happened with the MUD

Well that's unfortunate. Using the map here is free publicity! Why fight against that?
