Triples: Playing at the same time (Cheating?).

Postby Final_Boss on Thu Oct 25, 2007 11:46 pm

Question: To those out there who play triples, is it "cheating" to play a triples game in a dorm room [at college] with your pal(s) if you are all in separate rooms and discussing how the moves will be made -- cheating?

Facts:
Same floor, 100 feet apart, Good friends, Different Styles, Different Accounts/Names

Games:
1083366, 1076636, 1078031, 1078033, 1061888

Final Questions:
If this is cheating then why is Freestyle/Unlimited Fortifications still around? Allowing teams to makes moves at the same time is the ultimate form of teamwork; however, it is right to say that teams that can physically leave their rooms to tell teammates what their team's objective is -- cheating? Then why have the option: Freestyle/[Cards/No Cards]/Unlimited/Public?

Statement:
Last time I checked it would be the same as discussing the games on AIM, Skype, three way cell phones, etc. Equally easily done with minor difficulties--

What you describe is not cheating.

Not cheating. It's the same principal as the "Tem Chat" box in the chat window. It's just sped and more efficient. The point of a team game is to work together as cohesively as possible. I commend the teammates for being so diligent in victory.

If this were a singels game then it's cheating, but that argument has no merit in a team game.

It's not cheating in a team game, it's good teamwork.

not cheating...

But Freestyle, in general, requires a certain (high) amount of flexibility to the schedule and ability to be at the computer.

Freestyle Doubles or Triples... Geeeeeez. I hadn't even considered that possibility, but the words "FREAKING UGLY VARIANT" suggest themselves to me almost immediately. Brrrrrrrr. ;)

Sorry, Freestyle is a variant I've basically had to give up on for the next... 8 years, 4 months, 18 days (with the occasional possibilty of Freestyle during vacations). My job simply does NOT allow the kind of availability that Freestyle demands. It has taken me quite a few points to determine this with certainty. :(

Its definetely not cheating, I came across a player who thought it was, cant remember the name, but as it turned out he/she played at the same time as teammate either by accident or design and was rightly roasted for it. Its called freestyle for a reason - its freestyle, cant handle it? - dont play

This should prolly go under cheating and abuse reports, and no it is not. Multi would be one after the other, like 1 or 2 minutes after.

Nope, though some players may disagree, it is not cheating. It is teamwork at it's finest.

The first time I same-timed with my team-mates was purely by accident. We just happened to all be there at the same time. It wasn't until one of the opposing team members (xtrawacko, or something like that) threatened us with his 'ignore list', that I considered planning to same-time. Having a man try to tell me what to do will usually result in my doing the opposite:)

Since that game, I have continued using this tactic, if my team-mates are available, or agreeable to this. My team even managed to beat the infamous same-timing skyT and his team this way. Now that was a fun game!
