Chat, strategy and cheatiing

Postby Piestar on Sat Oct 13, 2007 7:41 pm

Just curious. In one (non-team) I used game chat to suggest a joint attack on a territory.
The person I suggested it to did not answer, but a different player made the statement that it wasn't a team game, as if discussing joint strategy on the chat is cheating.
Is this true? Don't want to be a cheater... :(

Nope, that's fine, just make sure you make it public in the game chat. A lot of people don't like truces though, so it may get you a negative feedback if you do stuff like that.

hecter is exactly right, its perfectly legal, and some players choose to do it all the time, but many absolutely hate them... it usually depends upon the type of arangement your looking for... the shorter, and more casual, the better....

Ideally, with all good players at the table, truces arent really necessary...you can communicate with your armies pretty well...

typically if you're offering a truce with a weak player when your a weak player, it will be received better than if you are strong and offer another strong player one...

in that particular game, you could consider dropping the offer, just so the other player doesnt get annoyed, and it may keep the game fun, certainly explain you thought it was perfectly legal...which of course it is

Good to know...

Thanks for the info. It wasn't a truce offer anyway, just a suggestion that we both attack a continental boundary, as neither of us had the troops to do it alone. so there is no offer to drop. That turn is gone...

thanks again...
