In a standard game each player fends for himself and there is only one winner.

Just to check that this mean that only the winner gets points. Am I right? i.e. if I was to eliminate a player in a standard game yet not win overall I wouldn't get any points.

yes tht is right only one winnner overall gets all the points from each player in the end in terminator you are awarded points for who you elimnate

Standard is the last man standing gets all the points; terminator you get points for every elimination even if you aren't the last man standing and assassin you get the points if your target is eliminated, even if you aren't the one to eliminate them.
