ArTFuL needs experienced players help :) [Answered]

Postby ArTFuL DoDGeR on Sun Jun 17, 2007 12:35 pm

First off, let me say that everyone for the exception of 1 person I have run into on this site ( and Im not going to name drop ) have been flat out awesome. Everybody has been polite and made for a fun and inviting environment.

My question to you guys is this. How EXACTLY do the points work at the end of the game. I have seen people win a TON of points at the end of games. I personally, have played 19 games, and won 9. But the most points I have earned for the win was 97 ( I think - going from memory here ) but no more then that.

The rules area says this " (loser's score / winner's score) * 20, up to a maximum of 100 points from each opponent "

But how is the losers score calculated ?

I guess what Im trying to say in this jarbled post is :

Does how long the game go impact how many points you can win ( Meaning if the game goes 30 rounds, more points are available if you win because the game was a long hard fought battle - and less for games that go few rounds ? )

If you are the last person the winner beats, do you loose less points then let's say the first person knocked out ??

I'm really trying to figure the point system out, but I can't and it's driving me alittle mad

Thanks in advance for not only your responses, but for being some of the nicest and coolest people I have met on a busy internet site ( it's few and far between to find a large and friendly site nowadays ! :) )

no its far more simple than that, it is simply the points you have earned (or lost) from previous games. your score has nothing to do with the particualr game you are in. it is the score or number of points shown in your profile.

The points work exactly as the rules state,
(losers score/winners score)*20, no matter if you are the first one eliminated or the second to last. Also, game length does not matter. There is one catch though, your score is what it is at the end of the game, not when you were eliminated. I'll try to make that last statement a bit more clear with an example, let's say that you were eliminated on tuesday, and you had a score of 1000. You fill your game slot with a 1 v 1, and have 3 other 1 v 1's going and we'll just say you win them all. your score is now 1100. The game that you were eliminated in now wins. Your losing score is now 1100, and not the 1000 it was when you were actually removed. The same is true for if you lose a bunch of games between when you are eliminated and when the game ends. The only time this scenario doesn't occur is when it is a terminator game.

I hope this helps and that it isn't too confusing. And welcome to CC :)

Ok, Im starting to get a better idea then.

So would it be a true statement to say the better the people you play, the more points ( for you ) there would be to win ??

it would be true to say the higher ranked the people u play the more points u stand to win, and the less u stand to lose. however im not entirely sure rank always correlates with the quality of the player :P .

" (loser's score / winner's score) * 20, up to a maximum of 100 points from each opponent "

This is basically the only thing the scoring system is based on. Game length and the order in which people are eliminated does not matter. For example, if 4 people are playing a standard game, let's say they have scores of 500, 1000, 1500,and 2000, and the player with 1000 points wins. The point he gains would be (500/1000 X 20) + (1500/1000 X 20) + (2000/1000 X 20) =
10 + 30 + 40 = 80. Each of the other players loses the number of points that the winner got from him/her.
I have an IQ of 195. Of course my answers are different!

Yes thats right. Also beware playing people with a much lower rank than yuo, if they do on the off chance win then you lose a load of points. You are unlikely to win against people much higher than you unless you are an up and coming newbie so the best people to play against are the people of around the same rank that way you win/lose around 20 points.

Fast posted! By 2 people! I really must practise my typing lol.

I think I know why you're confused - points calculation is based on who you beat, yes, but the total amount of point is also by the type of game you play.

In Terminator, for each person you eliminate, you get some points.
In Standard, you get some points from every other person who was playing in that game if you're the last person standing. This is one of the game types that racks you up with the most points, along with Assassin.
In Assassin, if you eliminate your target first, then you get some points from every other person who was playing in that game.
In doubles/triples, your team's score is summed, and the other team's score is summed, and then the points are calculated, and distributed evenly. If you're three privates against three captains, then you're going to get about 40 points each (and they're going to lose 40 points each). If the captains win, then they're going to get about 10 points each (and your team will lose 10 points each).

See the Instructions tab for more details regarding these game types :)
