Ethics: Subject 1

I started wondering a few weeks ago about various subjects to do wit risk.

This weeks discussion will be about the following subject:

If a player misses 2 go's is it ethical for them to win the game. IF:

the player has a set of 5 in escalating and missed turns to get a higher bonus
the player has missed 2 go's in most of his games and has deadbeated out of some

Please discuss and at the end of the week we will decide whether it is ethical to win either of those

Why would it be unethical? As long as you don't form secret alliances and don't play with multiple accounts, I don't see any problems.

Any player with 5 cards in esclating who misses 2 turns is likely to be die within that time, right?

I wouldn't say it was unethical, but people who choose to use missed turns as part of a strategy are sad, sad people, imo.
Sure everyone likes to win, but there shouldn't be any room in any type of game or sport for poor sportsmanship.
Digressing a little bit, I also can't stand when opponents can't even take time out of their busy schedule to wish their other opponents luck in the game, especially when someone else has already "broken the ice" and wished well first!

the reason it could be un ethical is because They have an unfair advantage lets say he did both of these on purpose would it be ethical then

Why would someone have any kind of advantage from missing two turns? If the other players are not able to take reasonable steps, they deserve to loose.

in card games it could mean the difference of gaining 3 cards off someone and getting 5 cards off someone

If someone has missed 2 turns, but is still going to get a bonus, I try to break them on principle, but I don't see how it's any more "unethcial" than publicly forming an alliance. As Micheal Wilbon says "We play to WIN THE GAME" If it's not against the rules, it's as ethical as it gets for world domination.

Well. You shouldn't put yourself in a position to be eliminated to begin with....

While not illegal, it is unethical. The reason CC allows missed turns is because someone may have a situation that prevents them from getting to the computer. CC didn't design missed turns for people who could have taken their turn but chose not to in an attempt to gain a strategic advantage.

This type of behavior is no different than someone who could easily get a job but choses to live off of welfare. Or a mega corporation that uses a tax cut designed to increase employment on machines to replace more workers.

Be ethical, don't abuse the system and privileges bestowed upon you. Privileges can always be taken away. Receiving your full armies for missed turns is for people who legitimately miss turns.

Cmon, you people know this.
