i dont think the amount of games matters. i mean when i first stumbled on the site i had only played risk (not associated with CC of course) once. i had no idea wat i was doing but enjoyed it so almost immediately bought premium. i then went down to 590 points i think after my first 150 games. that is a huge disadvantage! if i was to start another account when i have an idea of the ins and outs of the game i would of course progress up the ranks much faster.

anyways just my two cents.

Have any of you actually played any real sports

the posts regarding points and who has the most and how well they did are great...they foster competition...its essentially trash talk aimed at drumming up competition

calling robinettes posts trash talk is a little extreme, but I mean it in a good way....JR is one of the best at it...He just makes you want to play him...makes you want to challenge him, and mostly want to beat him...it just makes the place a blast

Tell me this isnt lost on everyone in here...i understand that some could interpret it as back patting and elitist posturing, but if you cant see the toungue in cheek pure competitive spirit in which these posts are born, youre missing the whole point

this is a world domination game....the point is to demolish the other guys armies...not just randomly click the buttons and see what happens...(though lately thats what it feels like im doing...or better...should probably try to see if I could win one)

but seriously consider how boring this game would be without some real competition...it would be a joke....now some who cant play will, will always say its just a game, and points dont matter, and they play to have fun...and thats fine...play on...but dont knock those who like to take it to the limit

Ive played all sports of one kind or another, and have had some fun games...but the ones with real competition, where you pushed yourself to the limit, and overcame the odds are the ones you remember

Dont be afraid of a little competition in here...its not for everybody, but dont knock it for the sake of knocking it...

thats because the charts she post are on information that doesnt mean anything except to herself. 3,000 points under 200 games is a useless stat.

information on high scores and most victories are always stats kept in real games and sports.

who scored 100 TD's the fastest or who scored the most TD's.

who hit 100 HR's the fastest or who hit the most HR's

who scored 10,000 points first in the NBA or who scored the most points All-time

and if we follow suit, who scored the highest points in CC or who hit 3,000 points with the least amount of games. without Robin doing the reseach, I would have never known the answer.

unless your a real buff at a sport you will always know the answer to who holds the most record first.

its not how fast you do it, its if you can go the distance

actually her stats are cool...its just that her 200 games were all 6 player escalating....if she indeed had more wins in her first 200 of those than anyone else, that truly is an achievement

the problem is the number of games played does skew any real statistic, because those who play 15 different games and maps at a time will always have lower stats than those who concentrate on one particular type(assuming they are actually good at that type)

We really do need a comprehensive stats program to keep track of the best at each type and map...

it would give players to exploit thier individual talents, and perhaps make a name for themselves

i myself wont be doing that until theres an award for those who gain 800 points drop them, gain them again and drop them, gain them again drop them and hopefully gain them again...in the shortest amount of time...

maybe call it the yoyo award....no no even better:

the "ride great players' coat tails to the top, till you stop playing with them, and then try to do it on your own and find out that you apparently arent that good afterall" award

yep...it will cost alot to ingrave on the trophy, but I think i win it hands down :D

thats great to hear that you enjoy her stats. she will be very pleased to hear that someone else appreciates her time being spent on it. I personaly find its useless information and doesnt mean anything, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

her records are as useless as Carl Ripken getting the most consective played games record. the guy got a record for doing his job which is playing baseball.

BTW, any chance with you teaming with Jork? I got some catching up to do 8)

Wow... this sort of thing really hits a nerve with some of you... JR & chewy most notably...

But you fail to see the point of this thread...
JR, you said yourself that without my threads you wouldn't even know any of these stats... what I am trying to do is identify the best up and coming players... quality players that should be recognised and that i will want to play.... I did a similar thing with the top 10 singles list... and from that I am currently playing 5 exceptional opponents in a most enjoyable esc game...

And one more note about stats JR... how long something takes DOES matter...
Since this is Memorial Day, I'll use the INDY 500 as an example ... it's ALL about position on the 200th lap (less when it rains)...

Meanwhile, in your world, a truck driver team moves thier semi 3000 miles across the country at 65 miles an hour... clearly out performing ALL the best and fastest Indy cars in your perspective... but that's okay because it's the way you choose to play the game...

So I am sorry if some of you don't agree with me, or don't even understand my way of thinking, or if these threads simply make some of you feel inadequate in some way... But I would simply suggest you continue to play the game your way, and let others play it the way they want to.

Your way: http://static.taume.com/image/80.jpg

My way: (this will BLOW your MIND) http://www.gamepapa.com/videos/90-badf1crash.html

^^ for fun, see if you can identify this driver ^^ kinda like me, made history and ruffles some feathers... 2 more clues: has led the indy500, but has never finished 1st

I like having the stats, even when I don't read them. IT's good to know them. If only I was in them.

How the hell do I make 3000 in 200 games If I can't play 300 games at a time.

I wasnt defending individual stats per-se....just that more info cant hurt...and ive seen enough of Robinettes posts to know she thinks she's great(which of course she is)...but also enough to know while she's serious....there is an over the top element to them, that while somewhat subtle, is there under the surface...
