How can I avoid using my spoils in nuclear?

Postby ZeekLTK on Tue Nov 20, 2012 10:37 pm

I'm in a team game with nuclear spoils. It keeps giving me cards that are my teammate's territory, along with my own territory, so obviously I don't want to use them. Is there any way to get rid of them so I don't have to cash them in?

Otherwise, what are my options? Using them against ourselves would really hurt, it's a small map and we don't have much territory as it is, taking out 3 of our own (and breaking up most of our bonuses in the process) would be devastating. Should I just purposefully miss my turn a few times to get enough "delayed troops" to help reclaim our land quicker? What else can I do to avoid having to use them?

You can only get rid of your spoils by cashing them. You can play your turn like normal and then don't end your turn. You will time out after an hour and avoid gaining another spoil, but some will consider this cheap tactics.

not ending your turn, means in chained that you also cannot fort(since doing so ends your turn). in unlimited there is no penalty for not ending your turn, so many find it cheesy, but to date, this lack of ruling has not lead to systematic abuse.
