Notifier keeps opening games in new window instead of tab

Postby redtide on Tue May 01, 2007 7:44 am

All of a sudden on one of my computers, every time I double-click a game from the notifier in my system tray, it opens in a whole new firefox window instead of a new tab. I haven't changed any settings, but somehow something has changed, and it's driving me nuts. Does anyone know how to fix it?

thanks

I'm assuming you're talking about the Conquer Tell Notifier.

Two things to check:

1) Right-click on your row of boxes on the lower right hand corner of your browser (to the immediate left of your smiling red greasemonkey icon).

In the list that appears, "Open in tab" should be checked. If it isn't, left-click on it and it will be.

2) In the Firefox browser menu: Tools --> Options... --> Tabs,

New pages should be opened in: pick a new tab

Press OK.

Restart Firefox.

It should open the games in a new tab now.

If you're having a problem with a Utility my suggestion is to go to the Utilities thread, find the utility that's causing you a problem, click on the link for that utility and post your question there. I think you'll get a better response and it may even come to the attention of the utility developer.

Good luck.

For those interested, what seems to be happening is that the "Open new pages in (new tab or new window) setting seems to be overriding the setting in the Conquer Tell Notifier itself. I suspect it's not a change in the Conquer Tell Notifier but a change in the Firefox browser. I'm using Firefox version 2.0.0.3.

You should repost your question to the correct utility thread so that the developer can look into it.

Thanks for the quick reply! I think I had inadvertently changed the setting in the notifier itself and didn't realize that option even existed. It's working now.
