Points Systems

Postby Ghost20021 on Mon Mar 12, 2012 10:38 pm

Why is it that those who are eliminated first lose less points than those who are eliminated last. That hardly seems fair. Especially when the people who were the first to be eliminated because they didn't play and were kicked. Most of the time the last people eliminated fought the hardest in the game and just lost because someone else got a set quicker than them and were able to end the game with it. Really, the fair thing world be to have the last person eliminated to lose the least and the first person eliminated to lose the most; not the reverse. Who came up with the backwards system we now have?

because the person who gets eliminated first is usually a lower level.

The point system has nothing to do with the order you finish? Did you read the instructions where it describes the point system? The exchange of points is based on the winner's score and the loser's score.

The points to be awarded is calculated as (loser's score / winner's score) * 20, up to a maximum of 100 points from each opponent.

Well it always seems to go in order from last eliminated (most points lost) to first person eliminated (least lost)

That's coincidence. Or because of this:

it this would be the case then the conqueror would not be the most skillfull player (...) but the player who played the MOST games.

Why is it that people who miss all their turns can lose less points than the person who came in second place? How is that fair?

Because the point system has nothing to do with your actions in a specific game. It is only based on the points of the winners and losers.

So I person who doesn't do jack has more points than I person who fought and lost? So basically you're saying is if I end up in a game with people who are all much better ranks than me and I don't think I can win, my best bet is to not even play? HOW IS THAT FAIR?

No, because you will lose the same amount of points whether you play and lose or don't play at all. If you want there to be a points penalty for not taking turns in a game, head over to the Suggestions forum and make that suggestion.

if you do nothing you are gpoing to lose your points anyways.
if you do something you might actually win.
