ending a game

Postby hurryupnplay on Mon Mar 12, 2012 6:40 pm

Is there a way to end a game you are losing badly without skipping a turn? Gumby2 has me out manned 163-3 & won't end the game. I asked him if he would end the game & now he takes 12 hours to take his turns & then he doesn't finish me off.

suggestions please?

Hi hurryupnplay. That can be frustrating. Sorry to hear. Can you link the game number here? I would suggest trying to talk to him about it, but it looks like you said you already tried that. Here's some options for you.

If a player is not killing you when he clearly has the game matched, then this is called "holding someone hostage" which is prohibited as stated in the Rules section, http://www.conquerclub.com/public.php?mode=rules

If you feel that this is occurring, then you can go here - Cheating & Abuse Reports Forum, viewforum.php?f=5, and post your petition to have the game reviewed by a member of the C&A team.

For more subtle approach, you can always use the ticket feature here, http://www.conquerclub.com/eticket/index.php, and make sure to use the drop down box to select Cheating & Abuse Reports.

Also, in the future they have a special forum just for questions, you can go here viewforum.php?f=57 or you can always use live chat and ask someone in the help section. This one is generally used for posts related to strategy.

Hope that helps. I'm sure someone will be around soon to look at that game anyways, they're pretty quick! Good luck in the future.

Ah, so that's against the rules, is it? I wish I would've known that when I was playing Feudal Epic...I sat there waiting with only one territory while that douche said "Why don't you take that village...".

Game 10748162

It looks like he might have been able to take your last region 1 turn earlier. But I don't see a real hostage situation here. He waited 12 hours before his next turn, but that's no offense since it is a 24 hour turn game. I would be different if he would keep you having 1 region for a longer period to attack neutrals first, but that wasn't the case here.

In the game chat he said that he wanted to see how the Objective works. That is why he took 1 turn extra.

Also, keep in mind that in some escalating games it is part of the game to keep a player hostage, in order to cash in his 2 or even 3 spoils at the appropriate time.

Good point, but in a 1 vs 1 game, especially tying up a game spot for a non-premium; that's just being a dick.
