Do private games give rating?

Just installed Clickable maps and wanted to try it out(like a practice game) with a friend but don't want to take/lose the other's points. If I made a private game and he joined would it still change our rating? I looked through the FAQ and googled it but didn't really see any threads/posts about it.

Private Games still have 'point transfers' which affect your 'rank.' If you and your friend do not want to 'rate' each other, you do not have to.

Just to make clear, since it seems like you are asking about a couple of things!

He writes "rating", but looking at the context he means "ranking".

As said, in all games there will be points lost/won. It doesn't matter if the games are public, private or tournament.
