Is there a way to have an admit review a FOW game?

Postby Alex6165 on Thu Jan 12, 2012 12:18 pm

I have played a number of FOW games and seen some suspicious play. For example taking over multiple bases on turn 7 after receiving only 4 troops and still having over 30 troops in a 1 on 1 game. Btw, the turn before I conquered one of his 2 bases leaving him with only 1. Since they are FOW games, I can't tell if it is legit and this person simply never rolls a bad die or what is going on but it seems highly suspicious and makes the game far less enjoyable.

FOW games are difficult to determine how many men a player has stocked at any one location.

But this should be asked in the Q&A section and not the C&A section.

Good question and im sure someone will have an answer for you.

I don't know of any way to cheat in a 1v1-game against a serious opponent. But the fog of war is lifted after the game ends, so you can at least see the moves your opponent made during the game (no army numbers though).

Alex, I see that you became frustrated during a Peloponesian War game recently. Is it possible you don't fully understand all the ways to achieve bonus troops?

remember his fortifications. pretty quickly he got 5 troops a turn and he forted 2. so each time in essence he deploys 7 troops to attack. if you know where it is most usefull you can go a very long way.

Moved to Q&A...

If there is cheating or abuse accusation, please follow the proper format with game number(s) and explaination of your accusation.

Thanks!

Lol, looks like he created the question in Q&A after that first comment. So just move this one to the archive.

Nobody has actually answered the question, can admin or C&A staff view thru FOW games?

No. Lack could check the database or something similar of course if needed, but he's the only one with enough access afaik, and such a feature doesn't exist. So nobody can 'view thru FOW'.

Though I know there is the option for administrators to impersonate someone else. No idea whether that is enabled on this forum and would work.

do you mean if admin can see though fog during a game, then like above, at any rate they can by getting into your account. such a thing would technically be possible.
do you mean can admin review a fog game for suspicious activity , yes they can.

After reading the log from turn 1 to 9, it was not impossible. But I agree, red was very lucky.

I can say red lost 35 (max) troops to kill 52 neutrals.

not even close to outside the realm of cc dice (random numbers) possibilities :)
