Three Month Window On Holiday Maps

Postby ViperOverLord on Sat Jan 07, 2012 1:55 pm

I think it'd be a value to the community to know that the holiday maps will be available for a fun amount of time each year. I propose 3 months: The month of the holiday and the month before and after the holiday. I know that tournament organizers would very much appreciate the consistency and liberal time frame as well.

Anything more would be appreciated.

Just because they are themed, I do not know why they cannot be around all the time to be honest. A map is a map. Why take it away if people like it.

If some crazy blows up a country we have a map on--will we lose that map as well :)

I understand the reason for removing the maps, but having them around, even if no one plays them would be nice. But the time frame we have now for them is silly. Why not have them start a month before the holiday. My Xmas decorations go up early December but I cannot play the Xmas map till the 24th. :-s

Hey, great idea. Let's all start making seasonal maps then! Apparently, those can be made outside the foundry with no quality standards whatsoever... if we can get them to play year-round, why would mapmakers want to take the time to go through the foundry process anymore?

No offense meant to the foundry. I think they should have went through the foundry process to begin with.
