I've played numerous games against my doubles partners, but I've always managed to keep friendship apart from the game I was playing. It's like keeping work and your private life separate from each other. You work for your points, your private gaming shouldn't have anything to do with it.

Oh we eventually slugged it out, but if we won't treat each other like we don't know each other, I'm best off playing team games. I don't want to do anything that's not totally above board.

People tend to favor friends whether they intend to or not. I recommend staying out of multiple player games with those you partner with. If you both really want to play against each other stick to 1v1.
