I have a deadbeat partner in a game right now....a game i did not mean to join....i really wish there was a are you sure button on that sometimes....

we had awesome position, and though the other team was still probably going to win, we had a shot. But, it was just a kid, who got on thinking he was going to play a realtime game of risk, and gave it a shot...when nothing happened he got bored and moved on...

ill lose a few points, but it doesnt bother me one bit. There was no ill intent, it was just a new player who, in the end didnt end up being one. But Id rather have to deal with this, than lose the players that come back, but have to miss a few turns every once in a while.

If you have a premium membership...deadbeaters dont affect you at all. More likely you have taken many of their points...I sure have. If you dont, and you play for free....the missed turn rule insures new players will keep the game here. Realistically it could be dropped to two missed turns, and no one would quit because of it, but three does give a new player a little more time to get used to the game, and thereby insure its success.

Ive played more than 1200 of these, and deadbeaters have just never bothered me. Ive had people work together to demolish me, ive had partners turn on me and wipe me out...the most recent posted in callouts looking for some help....and after I fortified him perfectly, he never fortified a single army, and hung me out to dry in two straight games....his excuse...."Remember, the causes of the majority of mistakes i make on CC is from the issues of reality. I have difficult times now in my life. I am 18 and i am getting all paranoid for senior prom and i am about to go to college in the fall. so many things are happening and I can't garintee that i won't make mistakes, because i am sometimes i am not all there. But i am an A B student in my high school and i will try my best for you and for the rest of my allies"

I of course knew something was up when I read it, and then after turn one it was clear, for whatever reason, he wanted me dead...

and people absolutely freak out and go into a fit of swearing that would make George Carlin proud....

these are the people who deserve neg feedback in my opinion...and players that always deadbeat, but in the first 20 games or so, a new player shouldnt be expected to know anything about this game. Many do, but many dont...so they really should be given some amnesty...if it continues beyond that, fire away
I'm Spanking Monkey now....err...I mean I'm a Spanking Monkey now...that shoots milk
Too much. I know.

unannounced alliances

Postby sonatherun on Fri Mar 30, 2007 9:50 am

Other players have a need to know if someone is a constant deadbeat. They also have a right to know if someone is an obvious or probable multi. I have nothing against forming alliances during games...it's part of the game and I do it, too, but unannounced alliances are as intolerable to me as are deadbeats. When it's clear, I will leave negative feedback, and when it is probable, but not absolute, I leave neutral feedback.

A friend of mine was left negative feedback for what the author thought was a poor stategic move (not taking out his partner in a doubles game to gain his 2 cards; and have a VERY small chance to sweep the one remaining player).

That doesn't seem right to me. Wether or not you think it's poor stategy is kinda irrelevant, it just doesn't seem a situation to leave negative feedback. It just sucks being new and having 2 pieces of feedback, one negative over what someone thought was a poor move, but is quite debatable.

Negative feedback should be for excessive deadbeating, unsportsman-like conduct, exploitation of gameplay glitches, etc.

I was just curious about other's opinions while the topic was being discussed.

That is a typical bullshit nf. When i read something like that i immediately put the one who gave it on my ignore list. So you're providing a service to CC by enabling us to avoid another cheesewanker.
