WWII Poland neutral planes

Postby catnipdreams on Wed Feb 23, 2011 5:45 pm

I am playing on WWII Poland for the first time, and I just can not figure out what the deal is with some of the planes. Take So2, for instance. I see how it can be bombarded to a neutral, no problem. What I simply can not figure out is how anyone could ever actually take it, and transfer their troops to it, and be able to use it...

There is a tank that could reach it. The tanks can all attack up to two territories away. Be careful you don't put too many troops in a plane cause you'll never be able to move them. And there is no reason to take more than 2 airplanes

Good luck

Ditto shocked. S02 can be reached by GC05, GC06, and GC04. The tanks attack the planes, not bombard them, so planes can be taken by tanks.

Hmmm - maybe I need to understand BOB better, then. When I select So2, I see a bunch of highlighted territories, with a three sided box, left side, right side, and top. I thought that this symbol meant that the selected tert (in this case, So2), can bombard the highlighted terts. But I don't see any "equal sign" boxes, or any boxes open on one side, that I thought meant two way or one direction attacks...

Edit: I just went into my game, and I can clearly see where the tanks can attack ordinary terts up to two away, but again, BOB shows that all the tank can do is bombard, not attack with actual troops transferred, when it comes to planes...

The BOB symbol for bombards appears to overwrite symbol for attacked by when a territory can bombard a territory that it can be attacked by. The text that goes with the map inspect for S02 lists GC04, GC05, and GC06 under both attacked by and bombards. But the map can only show one symbol. The same sort of situation occurs when inspecting the tanks, it is listed as both, but only one symbol can be shown.

THANK YOU!!!! Now I see it - I wasn't paying attention to the words - just the symbols - duh! Lol, now I wonder what all I've missed on other new maps... I really appreciate you clearing that up for me :D
