wow to many questions-
eddie2

i think ww2 poland should be top as that was a late entry did it not only start in december

well for now its in 4th place, and its great move, consider that before WWII Poland whas activated, they all ready been activated 25 maps from 2009 years.

AAFitz
so, in one month it passed all other maps for the entire year?

or am i reading this wrong here...ok I see that classic indeed was more played...my guess is by quite a bit...but world overtook everything else.

If you want i can add overal Top 5 from begining of CC.

chuuuuck
Are there less overall games played last year than in 2007 and 2008 or are they just that much more spread out?

I realy dont have informacion, how many games are played in every years, maybe moderators know exact numbers.

by Beckytheblondie on Thu Jan 21, 2010 7:02 pm

Qwert has divided this by year created. The total number of games played is not just limited to those years but rather since inception.

Thus, world 2.1 was not played 223754 times in 2006 but SINCE 2006.

yes,if i dont divide, then people will have wrong picture, because now some in top 5 have less active games, but have huge number of finished, because hes presence its longer then other new maps.

THORNHEART on Thu Jan 21, 2010 7:14 pm

so what we can gather is doodle earth is the most popular map!!!

probably, people love to play small maps, who can bring hem quick points, because game can be finished very fast.I think that almost every player play this map at least 5-10 time.

thegreekdog on Thu Jan 21, 2010 9:21 pm

Could the CC administrators create a large poll requesting everyone's top 3 favorite maps? I would love to see that. And by "favorite maps" I don't mean the ones we play the most, but rather the ones we like to play on the most.

you mean something like player rating?

I'd think Feudal, classic,and 2.1 would be top 3.

overal its
1.Doodle earth
2.Feudal War
3.World 2.1
4.British Issle
5.Luxembourge
this is statistic facts.
If you ask players, then i dont know what will be answer, and you need very large number of people to participiate to get real picture.

Its will be good that every player have option for map rating, and that can select up to max 5 maps(or 10),that will give answer for this question.

yes people like to gamble..

And I think most of the players are more familiar with how countries are spelled on Doodle Earth; it makes more sense to them.

And dont forget, its the smallest, so its also the quickest, which would also explain how it could be played the most.

I doubt many would call it their favorite map, but that doesnt stop them from playing it the most.

Agreed, 1 game on world 2 is takes as long as 10 games on doodle. So if we were to look at most time spent playing a map, the results might be different. Or most rounds played on a map.

Also, it should be noted, that certain maps revolutionized play. Doodle, world 2, feudal. They were very original. It's unlikely that we would have poland or new worlds had the concept not started with feudal. We probably wouldn't have lux and san marino if doodle never came out. These maps had fundamentally different game play from the maps that existed before them, they started entirely new categories of maps. I should probably put AOM on there too.

i woulod of thought classic would be in here somewhere

Classic map,its No1 map in all categories, and also they had 2 maps in one time, who all results merge in one,and its normal that have most games completed. Also they have First place in Game finder, even its name start with C,not A. This map its more for pratice, because all people its familiar with this gameplay(well for old version).

I'm still practicing...
and i've lost the last 12 straight std classic games :(

someday, when i'm ready, i'll stop practicing and play some real games

Very large numer of new players get advice that play Classic map, because this is best map for learning basic movement and rules of CC risk.

Why not suggest something like this to the Newsletter/CC Dispatch? Maybe they could investigate, run a poll, analyze and discuss it?

Hmm i look page 35 of Active games on Classic, and i find that majority of seeded spots its taken from recruits and other low ranked players, these only show that player use classic for practice, because dont have complicated gameplay, and bonuses its easy to understand.

recruits-54
cadet-11
private-18
private 1st class-31
corporal-14
corporal 1st class-28
sergeant and sergeant 1st class-62
------------------
lieutenant-24
captain-17
major-12
colonel-3
------------------------------------------
ofcourse first page its full of high ranked players, who are mostly in stalemate possitions.
