how come in a game someone quits mid stream and i come in second i lose more point than the guy who quit he should lose the most for quiting because when someone quits like that they throw the game off for other players.

2nd place is worthless in the game. you either win, or you don't. 2nd place can almost always be decided by who gets first place (aka, leave one territory left, then kill the other player, then kill the single territory).

The amounts of points won or lost is decided by the difference in points between the winner and the loser. You probably had more points then the flaker to begin with, meaning that you lost more points.

Allthough it is annoying if players flake, this site is a casual game site that doesn't want to punish flakers too harshly. Besides, it isn't easy to come up with a fair algorithm that causes a flaker to lose more points.
