World 2.0 --- Turkey to Greece

Postby IronE.GLE on Sat Mar 10, 2007 12:04 am

Can you attack Greece from Turkey or do you have to go through Moskva? I don't want to deploy only to find out I have to go through a larger force to get there. I have a Greece card and early in the game I feel it's a huge bonus to get those two extra armies when you play a set.
There is no luck, only preparation and execution.

Alliances are for the weak, whimpering masses looking for someone to hold their hand through the storm.

The map analyzer will answer all these questions:

Just replace "Classic" with "World_2_0".

It's an incredibly useful tool.

But for the record, s.xkitten is correct.

Is it just me or does the Map Analyzer cut all "larger maps" off at the right and bottom.

I have actually seen an awful lot of players holding Europe who leave Greece unguarded and I wonder why. Has been very helpful to me on occassions - instead of having to break 20, 30, 40, etc. armies you have an easy gain in Greece - happy days! :D

A lot of people don't realise that Moskva borders both Sweden and Norway too...

Well, it's true that ignorance is bliss....

... for someone.

I thought Lydia and Thrace were connected in Alexander's Empire. My mistake was brought home to me in a most unpleasant fashion.

My advice to anyone playing a new game map for the first time is to first spend some quality time with the new game map and the Map Analyzer. Check out anything that looks tricky and then check out everything else. My motto now: No surprises!

Not just you. That's why there's an "S" (small) version for every "L" (large) map. Merely replace the L with an S in the map name.

Of course, you don't even really need the Map Analyzer, you can get the answer to any question about a map from the XML directly (assuming you read XML), but the Map Analyzer is graphical, what could be better than that.?

True, but there is no way for the analyzer to shrink the xml to small size. So there is no point.

That won't work...tried that long ago. It will only show the attack paths based on the Large map and cuts off those over a certain width/height.

No problem at all reading the XML, but a visual is quicker...
