too many speed games by one person

Postby diggity007 on Sat May 29, 2010 10:32 am

whats the deal with people starting 30 plus speed games (ususally doodle earth, assasain, freestyle). it is super annoying to see that many games on the screen when there is only enough players online to maybe suffice 3 to 4. why do people think they need to start that many games? is your chances of one filling up better with 30 plus of the same option? i think not, so please be courteous and dont overload the speed games like that. i know i dont like to sift through the multiple same games which will prolly never be filled and then in the worst case senario, players forgetting about them and not showing up if they do fill.

It's called "point dumping" I believe. It's either that or someone who has a very fast connection and is probably using Clickable Maps.

players who do this are not point dumping as assdoodles often fill one or two at a time. I think it could be one of two things,

1) laziness that they dont want to create them a few at a time so they use the trick that allows you to create a lot at the same time to create a bunch that will fill over time thus they dont have to create more later. Also they dont really risk them filling at the same time because they are 8 player games.
2) to avoid peoples foe list, if you create a few one person who has a lot of players foed may join all of them and then they will take forever to fill. However if you create 20 that person may join the first few then others who are on that players foe list can join some of the other games.

You're right ljex, although this could be misconstrued for point dumping, because those assdoodle games can be over in just mere seconds once they have started.

I don't like having to wait more than 1:30 - 2:00 before a player is into his turn. On that basis a player shouldn't have more than 3 speed games going. 1 or 2 would be optimal. I hat it when they have 4 going and they're making you wait 3 to 4 mins at a time.

This thread was started because someone had 30 speed games up at one time... I think a limit should be set at 10 waiting speed games, to help stop point dumping. There's no way there's ever going to be a limit of less than 5, and rightfully so. Playing 5 games at once is totally doable, even if it inconveniences some other players.

i have to AGREE with a limit to starting speed games, 10 sounds good but then if those ten fill, other players suffer. perhaps the ability to start 10 but after 5 are activated, the other 5 are dropped. too many games does cause a lot of waiting. whatever happened to playing one game just like we did when we were kids before this beautiful site was made. break out you old risk board and regress for a moment. we all might have a different view on how we play on line

i dont think there should be a limit...if a person can actively participate in x speed games then we should let them.
if they start deadbeating then it is point dumping and then they wont be able to play games....quite simple...people know their limits. premium is about unlimited.

y should 1 player b allowed to create 45 freestyle games?

Postby azezzo on Wed Jun 09, 2010 3:51 pm

Ok I like to play speed games, you may say i am addicted to them, I just clicked on join speed games and see that 68 are available, wow, what a great selection of games to choose from, you would think, but you would be wrong, 1 player has created 45, 8 player doodle earth games, and 2 other copycat players have created another 20 plus 8 player doodle earth games, why is this allowed, this is nothing more than another form of spam.

I dont want to have to scroll past all this nonsense to find a game, and am sure other players dont either.

Good question. It would seem other players are having to deal with the same frustration.

Merged.

EDIT:

I just looked at the available speed games. Were you talking about Mageplunka, king of assdoodles? Check his recently played games. Believe it or not, he actually plays most of them. The average game lasts about 5 minutes, which is why he probably makes them in bulk.

actually KING KONQUER had the bulk of them up, regardless of who, 40+ exact same games is excessive

and the guy has a lousy 16% win ratio on that map, please, stop already

16% is above average for 8 player games... Average being 12,5% or 1 in 8.

well, in my defense and the defense of other speeders, it is a fun addiction with no hangovers involved, or doctors either. i set up as many as i have open slots available, and sometimes its up to 220 games waiting, sorry if i make you have to scroll a little lower, and make you spend more time searching for games, but i pay as much as you do . like today for instance, we actually had 9 active speed doodles going at 1 time , and some lasted a few turns , while others were over in 6 or 8 seconds.... and that's a total rush, if you never had it...like a drug of some sort......so , grow up and stop bitching about it ......or get your games up earlier than the ass doodlers.......im so tired of having people bitch about this subject.....your fun is your fun, and it takes a certain person to be able to enjoy speed games
