Notifier and Greasemenkey

Postby Blind Date on Mon Dec 18, 2006 1:02 am

Looking for some feedback on the two notifiers that are available..Can someone give or share the differences and pros/cons of the two?

Will someone walk me thru adding these to my 'puter?

Thanks

yeah easy as pie to set it up, basically just download the link is says, and wala it's on your screen. However the one that tells you when it's your turn doesn't seem to work. It just always says 0/0/0 when I have 40 games going even when it is my turn in a few of them... any suggestions?

I use the firefox add on because its nice and clear regarding games to play etc. To tell me to go into firefox I use this notifier

http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9004

Sits in the system tray and when you have a turn the icon changes - nice and unobtrusive.

The other notifier had a lot of potential but has to take over part of your pc screen so is pretty useless now IMHO.

Download it and install - then you'll see a 0 in your firefox status bar. Right click it and put your game tag in Blind date

The problem is that the conquertell notifier takes up 22 MB of RAM and consumes 5% of my CPU cycle ... Greasemonkey doesn't take up too much resources in contrast.

Where do you see that info? In terms of resources mine is flat line (0 or just above) at the moment so I am guessing that is down to processor power or you're misreading it?

Conquertell is much better than the original notifier because it is not a seperate application. You can always see it when you're on the internet and it won't get in the way of anything else you are looking at.

Don't get me wrong kevinc- I loved the notifier. But conquertell is even better.

As for which is harder to install, I don't really remember. But another nice feature is how easy it is to refresh conquertell or switch to a different user. So you're wondering how many games your opponent is playing? Or if they are purposely waiting to take their turn in a certain game but playing other turns? It's even easier to check with conquertell! Get yours today!
